abutted.xyz was founded in 2021 by a team of creative sandbox enthusiasts and game developers with a mission to empower players to build, create, and collaborate in a limitless virtual world. Based in Detroit, Michigan, our team of 10 developers, 3D artists, and community managers combines expertise in block-building mechanics, user-generated content, and collaborative features to craft an immersive creative experience.
Our flagship title, Abutted: Block Craft, invites players to unleash their creativity with over 300 unique blocks, 20+ build themes (from medieval castles to futuristic cities), and seamless multiplayer collaboration. Players can build solo or team up with friends to create massive projects, share their designs in the community gallery, and compete in monthly build contests with exclusive rewards. The game features intuitive building controls, customizable textures, and a physics system that adds realism to structures (e.g., stable foundations, movable parts).
What sets us apart is our focus on creativity and collaboration. We prioritize user freedom—there are no set objectives or limits to what players can build—and we foster a supportive community where creators can learn from each other, share tips, and collaborate on ambitious projects. We also offer educational resources, with build tutorials and STEM-focused challenges that teach basic engineering and design principles.
Since launching, abutted.xyz has grown to over 120,000 registered players, with a dedicated fanbase of builders who showcase their creations on social media. Our commitment to community feedback has led to major updates, including new block sets, a build blueprint system, cross-platform play support, and a mobile version optimized for touch controls. We also partner with content creators to host build workshops and exclusive in-game events.
Looking to the future, we’re expanding Abutted: Block Craft with a "mod creator" tool that lets players design and share custom blocks and mechanics, a story-driven adventure mode that combines building with quest-solving, and VR support for immersive 3D building.
